For around 20 days, starting in late April, we received submissions ATOM from over 300 teams across the globe for the global open call. We express our gratitude to everyone who participated. (*ATOM : smallest unit in Adler's 3D space)
1️⃣ The competition, 'The New Mutant,' consisted of two parts Part 1: By May 13th, 37 artists (with a total of 74 artworks) were selected from the 'ATOM' uploads on Adler's platform. These selected pieces were showcased as part of a 3D real-time campaign in Times Square, where three million people gather each day
Part 2: During New York Art Week, the final five participants of the open call were introduced as ‘New Mutant Artists’ who embody the fusion of technology and collaboration. Their artworks, along with the corresponding Adler spaces, were exhibited at Chelsea Industrial as part of 'Focus New York 2023.' The local audience and art lovers in New York had the opportunity to experience the unique combination firsthand.
2️⃣ Selection Criteria
Part 1 - Criteria for selecting <Get Control> campaign entries
It focused on "diversity of mediums" and "the extent to which artists utilized the official Adler SNS for a swift launch." Considering the participation of artists working in various mediums and fields such as painting, photography, digital art, illustration, and video, we took into account the diversity of mediums.
Part 2 - Criteria for selecting <The New Mutant> open call entries
In Part 2, the diversity of mediums remained important. Additionally, the prominence of each artist's unique gallery space, called 'Atom,' became an additional criterion for selection. Therefore, we considered the diversity of themes offered by Adler SNS, the harmony with the artwork gallery, and the accompanying color palette. Lastly, we also took into account the diversity of artists' nationalities. Adler aims to provide more opportunities for artists worldwide, which is why this aspect was considered.
3️⃣ The Intention Behind the Project
The reason why an IT company creates opportunities for artists is closely tied to the purpose of Adler SNS. We consider artists as the first target audience who can benefit from Adler SNS, which provides an easy and fast way for anyone to use 3D, eliminating the heaviness, cost, and difficulty traditionally associated with it. Throughout centuries of art history, new technologies have always been explored, embraced, and disseminated by artists. Therefore, Adler identifies the artists who are the first to embrace and experiment with new technologies as "the new mutants" and designed this competition accordingly.
Technology and art always coexist symbiotically. Adler, an IT company, prioritizes "creativity" above all else. That's why we seek out artists and strive to provide them with practical opportunities. We look forward to the collaborative journey between Adler and artists, where we can mutually benefit and support each other. |
